Deputies Search Illegal Marijuana Candy Facility on Figueroa

Several pounds of marijuana, including lollipops and chocolate bars, were seized.

Lollipops and chocolate bars containing marijuana have been discovered at a "marijuana candy manufacturing and sales operation" in Altadena, deputies announced today.

Two people were arrested as deputies served a search warrant near the 500 block of Figueroa Drive. Their names were not being released due to the ongoing investigation, according to a department statement.

The search warrant, which was served on Friday, was prompted by tips that drugs were inside the building.

Several pounds of marijuana were seized, including a large amount of homemade lollipops and chocolate bars containing marijuana. Equipment used in the candy manufacturing process was also siezed, according to a statement from the Altadena sheriff's station.

Deputies said they would release photos of the candy to make parents aware of its nature.
