I am very disappointed. I live in Tennessee, the heart of the bible belt, and expected to see many of my God fearing neighbors spirited off to their eternal reward. I had planned on standing in front of a local liquor store in hopes that the owner was a good Christian and would be "raptured" straight out of his store. Then I was going to join in the looting and try to get a few dozen bottles of a good 23 year old single malt scotch, a staple of we heathen, fornicating, booze swilling nonbelievers. Ah well, maybe next time.

How are the ideas of original sin, atonement through sacrifice and eternal reward less ridiculous than the idea of a rapture? Why do people still choose to find "truth" in a few select passages after most of that book has been discovered as culturally obsolete, both scientifically and historically inaccurate, and most often downright silly? The specific date of judgment day is founded on the exact same amount of testable accurate data as the rest of the book. Then again, so are the ninja turtles.
