Injured Hiker Airlifted From Eaton Canyon

A helicopter helps rescue a hiker after she falls and breaks her nose while hiking.

The Altadena Search and Rescue team rescued a female hiker Saturday morning from Eaton Canyon after authorities said she tripped and fell down a hiking path.

Sheriffs deputies said the woman sustained a broken nose from her fall on the popular hiking trail.

The search and rescue team, with assistance from a Los Angeles County Sheriff's helicopter, responded to the scene shortly after 10 a.m. and airlifted the woman to a Pasadena hospital, according to a Sheriff's Department release.

A dispatcher for the Los Angeles County Fire Department said the woman's fall happened about one and a half miles up the Eaton Canyon trail near what was described as the first waterfall.
