Three Hikers Rescued from Cliff at Eaton Canyon (Video)
The hikers were airlifted early Sunday evening after they were found holding on for dear life above a 100-foot drop.
Three hikers were airlifted out of Eaton Canyon after they were found clinging on to a cliff 100 feet off the ground, according to Capt. Mike Parker of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The Air 5 rescue team was able to lower the helicopter into the canyon area and send rescuers down by rope to haul the hikers out.
Two hikers were male, one female, and all are from Glendale, according to Parker.
The hikers were uninjured and were airlifted and dropped off in a landing area just below the Pinecrest Gate.
The video on right was shot by local resident and reader Peggy Sue Davis and shows the helicopter taking off after dropping the hikers off.

Saw the rescue copter fly out to Eaton Canyon. Expected this story. Sigh.

Geoff, tell me about it... I was just out for a bike ride and heard the chopper as I was going on by. It seems like every time I leave the house on a Sunday night I see Air 5, either in Eaton Canyon or flying southwest towards Huntington Hospital.

Dan, are they going to charge these people for the Copter ride? Or do we do this valet service for free?

I can always tell if there is a rescue in process, it sounds like the chopper is going to land on my house as it goes over to the canyon. Do these idiots get charged for the rescue or at least for the fuel for the chopper?
