Looks like the weekend will bring a break in the warmer weather we had last weekend and earlier this week. Tomorrow, the forecast in Altadena is a high of 75 degrees with partial cloud, with a high of 71 degrees for Sunday.
Still, it should be a lovely weekend for activities both in and outdoors. Here are some to consider.
1) The first ever Urban Farmer's Market will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Zane Gray estate, with local foods for sale and exchange.
2) Interested in learning more about local bird species? There is a free birding event at 8 a.m. on Sunday at the Eaton Canyon Nature Center. It meets regularly every three weeks.
3) For those who love the music scene, Houston Jones, a bluegrass, blues, and folk quintet is playing at the Coffee Gallery on Sunday, and tonight at the Rancho, Mercy & the Merkettes will be playing classic rock hits all night.
4) Across the border in Pasadena, is the Old Town Haunt, in the basement of the historical Union Savings Building, where organizers claim mysterious events have taken place over the last 107 years. The haunt will be open this weekend, and the next couple of weekends through Halloween.
5) For anyone who is not a fan of Halloween and ready to move on the Christmas, volunteers are still welcome to help set-up lights for the annual display at Christmas Tree Lane. The set-up work is taking place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
