Altadena Baptist has existed since 1966 when two Baptist churches were merged. The church is led by co-pastors George Van Alstine and Constance Larson DeVaughn. Altadena Baptist runs several outreach programs and a children's program.

Church leaders are proud of the diversity of their congregation, with members with roots in Brazil, Papua New Guinea, Jamaica, Egypt, Argentina, Lebanon, Korea, India, Philippines, Guyana, Chile, Sri Lanka, Bolivia, Peru, South Africa and Trinidad. Church members are also involved in missions in various countries around the world.
