5 Things You Need to Know: Altadena Home Tour, Local Chefs at Farmers' Market

1) If you've been wondering what all the yellow signs are on lawns around town, they are for the Altadena Guild for the Huntington Memorial Hospital's  .  This is the 60th annual tour for the group.  The Altadena-based organization raises money for the hospital through selling tickets to the tour, which this year features two craftsman bungalows, an Italian villa, and a mid-century ranch style home.

2) As the at Dodger's stadium continues to get press, Altadena's representative to the county Board of Supervisors, Michael Antonovich, sent out a release Tuesday calling for the team to ban its upcoming half-price alcoholic beverages.  The upcoming "throwback days" are ones where the franchise offer lower prices on all food and beverages.

4) If you saw yesterday's story on , it is a little easy to miss, but we noted that challenger Sean Baggett has missed the deadline for filing his campaign finance reports.  We have been told that they are on the way to the Pasadena City Clerk's office, and we hope to have them soon.  You might wonder if there is any penalty for politicians who miss these deadlines- it is a $10 a day fine, according to Mark Jomsky of the clerk's office.  Not exactly hugely compelling if you are raking in political donations you'd rather keep away from the public eye.

5) It's a bit of a hassle to get down to South Pasadena in the late afternoon, but Thursday's farmers' market could make it worth it: the regular market from 4 p.m to 8 p.m. this week will host the , where top local chefs turn out to offer the public a free taste of their food.  The list includes
