5 Things You Need to Know: Food Truck Debate, Possible Noise Ordinance Discussion

Some interesting local stories and events to take note of.

1) If you have concerns over loud music, Altadena liquor stores, and the appearance of your neighborhood, the Altadena Coalition of Neighborhood Associations is for you.  Concerns over those topics will be addressed to Sussy Nemer, a representative of Michael Antonovich, Altadena's representative at the County Board of Supervisors.  The meeting is open to all residents.

2) For those who have not already noticed there is a "Curves" franchise open at 2455 N. Lake Avenue in the same spot that used to host Kat Scrap Studio.  The Altadena Chamber of Commerce is hosting an for the store next Saturday.

3) There's been a pretty good debate going on a story we posted earlier this week about last night's second Fancy Food Truck Friday event, so if you out the comments please go by and take a look.  While there have been many people who have commented and emailed and expressed great happiness with this new event, there seems to be at least a few people who either feel they were personally affected by being a neighbor of the event, and also a few people who feel bringing food trucks in from vendors outside of Altadena is unfair to local businesses.  No matter how you feel about the issue, it makes for some good reading and is very reminiscent of similar discussions on .

4) On Monday the Altadena Library is , a former LAPD homicide detective who has argued in his writing that his own father was guilty of the famous Black Dahlia murders.

5) The will not be taking place this month, and will return in April.  However, by the April event, there may be new baby goats to visit, according to the Facebook page of the organizers.
