Altadena Power Outage to Occur Through Thursday

Southern California Edison crews are replacing a power pole on Roosevelt Avenue in Altadena so some residents will be affected.

Due to an emergency replacement of a deteriorating power pole at 1955 Roosevelt Avenue, some residents in the area will be without power Thursday, Southern California Edison Director of Local Public Affairs Ben Wong told Patch.

The outage was set to begin at 8 a.m. and the repairs are expected to be done by the end of Thursday.

Since this is an emergency replacement it is not considered a normal planned outage, in which residents usually get two days notice, said Wong. Word of the emergency replacement came Wednesday night and Patch reached Wong Thursday morning for confirmation.

An unspecified amount of residents will be without power for part of Thursday, Wong said, but noted that SCE tries to minimize the amount of people affected during repairs.

As far as road closures, up to one lane may be closed around the pole replacement area.
