Free Rose Workshop at Altadena Community Garden

Bring your own gloves and clippers to the Saturday event.

The Altadena Community Garden and Pasadena Learning Gardens are hosting a free workshop on rose planting, pruning and propagating Saturday.

Master Gardener Mark Rice and local rose expert Elvira Smith will share their knowledge during the hands-on workshop that starts at the Altadena Community Garden (3330 N. Lincoln Avenue, Altadena) at 11 a.m.

See photos of the Altadena Community Garden here.

Attendees are being asked to bring their own gloves and clippers. In case anyone would like to start his or her own roses from the clippings, he or she can bring a one- or five-gallon plant container filled with garden soil.

If you are knowledgeable about roses and would like to get involved in possible future workshops, contact Mark.Rice@alumni.usc.edu.

The workshops are a wonderful idea. I just happened to notice it today at 12:00 (too late), but would love to attend something like this. Ann Dougherty
