Get Out: Altadena Weekend Happenings

Patch has the scoop on everything that's going down this weekend; films, produce fresh off the farm, zumba, jazz and more await you!

1. 

The  (2659 N. Lincoln Ave.) hosts a workshop today from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, August 27. Participants in this free workshop will learn about the different styles of learning to read, how to plan lessons and set goals, acquire guidelines and tips and much more. "The Tumbling Weeds," a country western band, takes the stage at (568 E. Mountain Curve Ave.) this Saturday at 7 p.m. The concert is free, and put on by the Sheriff's Support Group of Altadena. See you there!

3. Grand Finale of 2011's

Every summer, La Cañada's Memorial Park (1301 Foothill Blvd.) is the place to be on Sunday nights as different bands take the stage from 6-8 p.m. This Sunday is Summer 2011's swan song; "Upstream" plays the final 2011 reggae concert. See you there! 

4. Film Festival

The  was a staggering success last summer, so much so that it's now an annual event! Join the party Friday and Saturday, as bands take the stage at 6:30 p.m. each night, followed by American Graffiti at 8 p.m. on Friday and Grease at 8 p.m. on Saturday. It's free, fun, and there's free popcorn for all! It's all going down at 2230 Honolulu Ave. in nearby Montrose.

(222 W. Sierra Madre Blvd.) is the place to be on Saturday if you’re in the mood for food truck fare! From 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Grilled Cheese Patrol, Sloppy Gourmet, Krazy BBQ, Los Angeles Shaved Ice, Lake Street Creamery, Mama's Food Truck, Hungry Nomad, Go Country 105, Dumpling Station, Get Your Lardon, and Peanut Butter Truck will all be on site to cater to your hungry stomachs!
