Mt. Lowe Historical Society To Offer Trip Down Memory Lane

The former rail route once known as "America's Most Scenic Mountain Trolley Trip" will be a sight once more.

The Mt. Lowe Railway Historical Society will be offering an excursion along that famous route, Saturday, Dec. 14. Participants will start at Chaney Trail Road, travel along the Cape of Good Hope, Dawn Station, Horseshoe Curve, Circular Bridge, Granite Gate and the Tavern.

Fees for the excursion benefit the Historical Society's yearly fundraiser.

Refreshments will be offered at the Tavern Site.

Organizers are allowing a group of only 75, according to forest rules.

Participants are asked to meet at the north end of Lake Avenue in Altadena, at Lake and Alta Loma at 7:30 a.m., Dec. 14. Carpools will depart at 8 a.m.
