I love ferrets, too, but I think they're illegal in the state of California. When I lived in Las Vegas, they were very popular, though. I'm wondering, too, if the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society has pets other than dogs & cats. I specifically can't have them where I live, but I'm thinking about birds or reptiles...

San Gabriel Valley Humane Society primarily has dogs and cats for adoption (the most wonderful dogs and cats, by the way!), and the occasional bunny. You're invited to come visit us - this year is our 88th Anniversary! If you can't have pets where you live, or aren't in a position to have one at this time, you might consider volunteering, and spending some time with our furry ones! And yes, ferrets are illegal in California.
