UPDATED: Power Outage Affects Hundreds of Altadenans

An unplanned outage occurred Monday. Have you been affected?

Update 2:43 p.m.

Southern California Edison spokesman Paul Klein told Patch that as of 2:34 p.m. all the power has been restored to Altadena except to one customer.

The cause of the outage was equipment failure, Klein said.

Update 2:18 p.m.

Webster's Pharmacy tweeted at about 1:47 p.m. that their power is back on, as did Lori Webster of Webster's Fine Stationers.

It is unclear if all customers affected have had their power restored.

Update 2:04 p.m.

Southern California Edison spokesman Paul Klein told Patch shortly before 2 p.m. that the Altadena power outage began at 11:27 a.m., affects 627 customers and the cause is unknown.

The area affected spans from East Las Flores Drive to the north to Morada Place in the South and from Porter Avenue to the east to Fair Oaks Avenue to the west, Klein noted.

Klein said there is no estimate as to when power will be restored.

Update 1:04 p.m. Patch spoke with someone at Southern California Edison who plans to find out more and get back to Patch about the power restoration time. Check back for updates.

Earlier:

A power outage has hit an area of Altadena and about 635 customers are impacted, according to Southern California Edison’s online outage map.

At about 12:20 p.m., Webster’s Pharmacy tweeted:

Urgent: The power is out! We are still open for prescriptions but phones aren't working! Hope to be up again soon - Please Altadena!

As of 12:04 p.m., SCE’s outage center named equipment problems as the outage’s cause and estimated power would be restored at 12:30 p.m., but as of 12:35 p.m., restoration time was changed to "currently being re-evaluated."
