Crowd Turns Out for "Two Gentlemen of Verona"

The 'Shakespeare by the Sea' company brought, well, you know who, to Farnsworth Park.

On Sunday evening in Altadena, 350 people turned out for Shakespeare by the Sea's performance of "Two Gentlemen of Verona."

It's perhaps Shakespeare's earliest play, and the first time one of his characters says the line, "Love is blind." He would return to that theme and use that line again in subsequent plays -- no doubt one can't say it often enough.

It was a perfect evening at the theater -- warm, clear skies, funny play, clever staging, pretty actors, good acting, and as one young chap in the audience said when it was over, "We sure did hear a lot of words."
