Christmas Tree Lane Lighting Ceremony (Photo Gallery)

The 91st Annual Christmas Tree Lane Lighting Ceremony went off smoothly Saturday night, just a week after extensive wind storm damage.

The 91st Annual Christmas Tree Lane Lighting Ceremony went off without a hitch Saturday night, just a little over a week from wind storms that knocked down one tree on the lane and knocked down various branches throughout the lane.

Event volunteers told Patch that right up to Saturday morning there were still some doubts about whether the lighting was set up right and ready to go, but credited the county and local workers for putting in long hours to get everything set up.

Following the crafts festival and some musical performances and a ceremony involving local officials, the switch was flipped, and a large crowd strolled down a street that was covered with tree debris just a week ago.
