Art on Millionaire's Row Food Preview

If you like to eat this is a good weekend for you to hang out in Altadena.  Besides the monthly Fancy Food Truck Friday event, which we , there is also a nice line up of food vendors planned for the Art on Millionaire's Row event on Saturday, including some of Altadena's local restaurant options.

We already the arts, crafts, and music options for the event, which  takes its name from its location at the Altadena Library on Mariposa Street.  The area was home to many mansions in the late 19th Century, some of which still stand today. 

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and has free admission.  Here are your food options, courtesy of Michel Choban, one of the event's organizers:

Anita's famous Lousiana Sausage will be back.  Freshly made, mild or spicy, grilled to order.  This year's addition: fresh lemonade.

Bill's Chicken  is another welcome return.  There is no Bill. But there is a Josie and a Baron, serving up their specialty.  There is no arguing with their motto:  "Today's a Good Day for Chicken."

L.A. Studio Feast will be serving a variety of Salvadorean specialties.  We vote for pupusas, but the star dish in Altadena last Christmas, was tamales. "Salvadorean tamales," says Itza, the lady in charge, "Zesty." She wants to help feed the artists too, so there will be coffee and breakfast dishes early in the day.

The Coffee Gallery will be dishing up Fosselman's finest ice cream.  Will the special June flavors--watermelon and root beer--be available? Stay tuned.

Amy's Patio Cafe will be serving salads , sandwiches, fruit, and, if you arrive early enough, breakfast burritos.   

Nancy's Bakery  will serve wonderful cupcakes, cookies, and their fresh breakfast pastries.

Pasadena Coffee Company  will offer hot and cold coffee drinks and fruit smoothies.

Greenz on Wheelz--"Lettuce Serve You"--will provide salads (Chinese chicken, barbecue chicken), wraps (try tuna or Cobb), and grilled sandwiches.  Don't miss the potato wedges.
