Classic Horror Literature Comes Alive at Altadena Cemetery

Wicked Lit will showcase horror classics, including Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, at the Mountain View Mausoleum and Cemetery starting Oct. 3.

Set against the backdrop of the final resting place of local residents, Unbound Productions presents the 5th annual Wicked Lit, full theatrical productions of horror classics at the Mountain View Mausoleum and Cemetery in Altadena Oct. 3 to Nov. 2.

The lineup includes production of H.P Lovecraft’s The Lurking Fear, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The New Catacomb, a revival of Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, as well as The Masque of the Red Death Experience, a production inspired by the work of Edgar Allen Poe.

“For our 5th anniversary production, we are committed to producing The best Wicked Lit ever. That means a more immersive experience with more scares, more intriguing stories, and mind-blowing special effects and surprises,” said Jeff G. Rack, one of Wicked Lit’s artistic directors, in a statement. Rack will direct Sleepy Hollow, co-adapt Lurking Fear, and also oversee the production design and special effects for the event.
