Updated: Unconscious Eaton Canyon Hiker Rescued, Taken to Hospital

A Los Angeles County Fire Department helicopter and units aided with the Monday morning rescue.

Update 1:43 p.m., Monday

A Los Angeles County Fire Department official told Patch that the person rescued was a woman around 20 years old. She apparently became unconscious due to a bee sting or insect bite, but it is unclear if the woman has any bug allergies.

An Eaton Canyon hiker is en route to the hospital after being rescued with the help of a helicopter Monday morning.  

The Los Angeles County Fire Department received a call around 10:04 a.m. Monday that reported an unconscious person near the white bridge at Eaton Canyon, LA County Fire Inspector Tony Akins told Patch.  

It is unclear how the hiker became unconscious or if the hiker sustained any further injuries. The age and gender of the hiker is also unknown at this time.
