Altadena's 2011 Town Council Race

Candidate Brent Musson talks about the 2011 Altadena Town Council Elections

My name is Brent Musson, and I'm running for a seat on YOUR Altadena Town Council! As you may know, Altadena isn’t an incorporated city, like Pasadena or Los Angeles, so we don’t have a mayor or a City Hall; instead, Altadena is managed by the Los Angeles County
Supervisors Office.

Supervisor Michael Antonovich is our “Technical Mayor” but besides Altadena, he’s also responsible for 71 other towns—a total of almost 3,000 sq miles, over 2 million people; so, he’s spread pretty thin…

He relies HEAVILY on our Town Council to help him make decisions that affect YOU!

That’s why it’s so important that we show up in force on election day AND elect someone, like myself, who is both willing and able to work hard on your behalf!

I’m already working HARD for you on Altadena‘s Land Use Committee, the LA County Sheriffs’ Altadena Stakeholders’ Committee and the ASDAC Board of Directors.

I’m a West Altadena homeowner and a39 year resident as well as a local business owner and community activist.

MY PRIORITIES for OUR Area
We MUST clean up the corner of Lincoln and Figueroa where loitering is a concern during the day and into the night!

Our town is split down the middle, “West Altadena” and “East Altadena.” What’s tolerated on OUR, West Altadena streets would NEVER be tolerated in East Altadena. We have to improve our profile at the Town Council AND at the County Government level.

MY VISION for all of Altadena
A long-term plan to increase Altadena’s RELEVANCE.  I’ve heard us referred to as the space between Pasadena and the hills. Altadena should lead the way, improving our local schools, improving public transit & bike lanes, and GREEN friendly building codes.

WHY? ...because that’s how we shine a spotlight on our endeavors so that County Government won’t tolerate gangs, grati, or anything else that would tarnish our hard earned new image. Let’s make West Altadena the safest part of Altadena!!
