Arroyo Food Co-op Interviewed About Plans for Altadena Area Store

Members of the Arroyo Food Cooperative, which is trying to start a grocery cooperative in Altadena or Northern Pasadena, discussed those plans in an interview by Uprising Radio that was posted online on Wednesday.

In the interview, Arroyo Food Co-op director Patrick Reagan, tells Uprising Radio's Sonali Kolhatkar that the group is still committed to plans to open a store in either Pasadena or Altadena. The group's plans require them to have 500 committed contributing members, with at least 45 percent of members committing to a full investment of $300 to select a location for the store.

Right now, the group has 423 members, Reagan said. Of those, 32 percent have agreed to full investment.
Once the group has 625 members with 45 percent fully invested they would open the store, according to Reagan.

Reagan also discussed recent efforts to open underground markets in Altadena and the overall food movement going on in the town.
