Los Angeles County Sees First Drop in Gas Prices in Two Weeks

Today marked the end of rising gas prices in the county, with average prices falling a tenth of a cent to $4.061 a gallon.

Gasoline prices in Los Angeles County ended a 14-day streak of increases today, with the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular falling a tenth of cent to $4.061.

The average price rose 22.6 cents over the previous 19 days, including four-tenths of a cent on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 9.3 cents more than a week ago and 18.1 cents higher than a month ago, but 9 cents less than a year ago.

The lowest gas prices in Altadena is at $3.95 a gallon at Arco, 2171 N. Fair Oaks, according to Gasbuddy.com.

A 14-day streak of increases in Orange County ended today when the average price decreased six-tenths of a cent to $4.034, 8.6 cents more than one week ago and 18.1 cents higher than one month ago but 8.8 cents less than one year ago.

The Orange County average price had risen 19 times in 20 days before today, increasing 23.5 cents over that span, including eight-tenths of a cent on Tuesday.
