Nominations Open for Altadena Chamber Business/Citizen of the Year

Mail, email or drop off nominations to the Altadena Community Center by Nov. 30.

It's time again to nominate an Altadena citizen and business of the year that stand out among the rest. This year's nominations have started a bit later but you still have two weeks.

"The Altadena Chamber Board of Directors has selected a citizen of the year since 1945, the Chamber said in a statement. "The nominees come from local community based organizations, Chamber members and local residents."

The citizen of the year is to be someone who has made a significant contribution to the community at large. Nominees must live in or operate their business/organization in Altadena, respectively, and may not be a current member of the Board of Directors.

Last year, the Altadena Chamber added an honor for a nominated business or organization of the year.

The recipients will be honored at a dinner that also names new Board members and a silent auction that benefits a local non-profit organization. The Chamber has not yet confirmed a date for this celebration but said you can mark your calendar for late January, 2013.
