Poll: Do You Have Sprout's Envy?

A Sprouts in La Canada Flintridge and a Fresh and Easy in Tujunga both opened this week. Would you like to see that happen in Altadena?

Here on the site we've had , and with the , some have suggested that might be another spot where a new market can open.

Meanwhile, other foothill towns, by coincidence, have had some recent good fortunate with regards to grocery options: the and .

A lot of discussion on this site has centered around , bring in a smaller market, or seemingly most popular of all, a Trader Joe's.

So what do you think about a Sprout's or a Fresh and Easy, Altadena residents?  Vote in our poll below and leave your thoughts in the comments.

I voted neither ~ reason being, the two that are currently open are right near TJ's so, it's very convenient to go to TJ's and Sprouts at the same time. I purchase more at TJ's than I do Sprouts so, for me, I still would prefer TJ's here. I don't particularly care for F & E. Revvell (or, whatever my real name is)

Would love a Fresh and Easy.

Prefer a farmers market!! We usually shop at TJ's or whole foods but if I had to choose between the two I'd choose Sprouts.

I've never shopped at either Sprouts or Fresh and Easy. I just found out there's a Sprouts in LCF yesterday and I don't even know where the F&E is. I am hopeless as a grocery shopper, I just hate it. Just give me something close with fresh produce, the staples I use most, decent prices, and quick in-and-out. Oh! That's what should be on the corner of Lincoln & Altadena! In-N-Out! Now there's a place I would shop all the time.

If those were our only two choices, I would go with Sprouts, hands down. I would MUCH prefer having the Co-op market! Trader Joes would be okay. Altadena is a sleepy,Quaint and quiet little town so a big corporate Market just doesn't seem like it would belong up here. I personally prefer to shop at little places that provide healthful, Organic foods, like 'Oh,Happy Day'...we can always drive a few minutes away to go to a big market

I would prefer a Trader Joes...

No big corporate market in Altadena, please! No more development or expansion! Altadena is fine just the way it is.

boo massive chains that wipe out small local business. (I know, I am a broken record)

Would love to see a Trader Joe's next to the big chain all but forgotten about GETTO RALFS, build on the eye soar lot next door. Nothing sleepy about Altadena's 42,777 population in comparison to the CUTE down town of Sierra Madre population 10,608 has. Just look at the numbers that turn out for" Food Truck Fridays" Altadena wins 1st place in SHEER UGLY in the business district.

Altadena will never, ever be La Canada, THANK GOD ;)

I would love to see more options for shopping of ALL kinds in lovely Altadena; the pickings are, indeed, thin. It would be interesting to do a study on how much gas is wasted annually by Altadena residents driving up and down our hills in order to make purchases in Pasadena, La Canada, etc..(and I do plan/group my shopping/other errands for maximum efficiency).

A Trader Joes, Sprouts, Henry's Market or Fresh & Easy would be fantastic! What a hassle it is to have to drive out of the area to frequent any of these stores. I love Super King, but could use some other options as well.
