Southland Gasoline Prices Continue Rising — Where to Find it Cheap in Altadena

The least expensive gas in Altadena can be found at the ARCO at 2171 N. Fair Oaks Ave. for $3.99 per gallon of regular, according to gasbuddy.com

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today for the third consecutive day, increasing nine-tenths of a cent to $4.162.

The average price is 3.1 cents more than one week ago, 1.2 cents higher than one month ago and 5.2 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The Orange County average price rose for the seventh consecutive day, increasing eight-tenths of a cent to $4.152. It is 4.2 cents more than one week ago, 1.6 cents higher than one month ago and 6.2 cents greater than one year ago.

"Two Southern California refineries have reported partial unplanned shutdowns because of equipment issues and that has driven wholesale prices up by 20 cents in the last week," said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.

"While we can't predict how fast or how much they will increase, we do expect pump prices to continue rising as travelers get ready for their Independence Day getaways, so drivers might not want to wait until the last minute to get fuel."
