In an effort to take the first step towards doing something about these issues, we at Patch collaborated with Ed Meyers, a board member of the Chamber of Commence, local business owner Lori Webster, and Dan Harlow an Altadena resident who runs Harlow Technologies Inc.

Our role here was in discussing the issues and helping to get the group together, but the survey itself was mainly the work of those three individuals.

From Meyers: "The purpose of the survey is to better understand the community's shopping habits along with a way to gauge what type of additional retail the town would support. We hope to share the gathered information with both LA County Economic Development departments and other potential business partners."

You can take the survey at surveyaltadena.com and though it takes a few minutes to do so, it will go towards giving business owners and officials a sense of what people in the community want from their businesses.
