Business in the 91001
There are many Altadena residents who have home based businesses. Yet, we don't know much about them. Now's the time to learn more about what the 91001 home based businesses have to offer!

My name's Ed Meyers. I've lived in the 91001 for about 8 years. While I certainly don't know everything there is to know about business, I'm going to give this business blog the "old college try".
What I plan to do with this blog is to take an occasional look at business in Altadena. Future blog entries may consist of:
-- "I'm a (new) business owner, what permits do I need and how do I get them?"
-- what type of businesses would we like to have in Altadena? Maybe we already have that business here but we need/want more (or less) of that type.
-- a 5-10 question Q/A with a local business. Could be a newly opened business or someone here for years. It'll be a chance to learn more about our local businesses.
-- what do Altadena businesses need to do to have you spend more of your dollars locally?
If you have a "local" business related question or topic, let me know. If I don't know the answer, I'll do some research to find the answer!
Let's start today off with Altadena's home based businesses (HBB). There are many in town who work out of their homes. Because of this, residents don't always know much about this segment of the business community. I work out of my home so I know about the many pros (flexibility with family etc) and cons (staying focused!) that occur in the home office.
