Dvorak Symphony 8 and Schumann Cello Concerto in Free Concert

Enjoy Dvorak's sweeping Symphony No. 8 and the beautiful Schumann Cello Concerto in a free concert presented by Pasadena Community Orchestra.  Cellist Christopher Ahn, a UCLA graduate student who has performed in chamber music ensembles and as an orchestral soloist across the U.S. and on four other continents, performs the Schumann.  Dvorak's Symphony No. 8 features melodies from his beloved Czech homeland and a heartfelt joy rare in music of the time.  The concert opens with Henry Cowell's Hymn and Fuguing Tune No. 3, in which the composer has fun with traditional music of the American South.
