Are you concerned about job security and today’s job market?  Are you looking for ways to earn more after-tax dollars, or dreamed of starting your own business? If so, a home business might make sense for you either on the side or as your main livelihood.

Or perhaps you already work out of your home, and could use some tips on improving maximizing sales. Then this class could be just what you need. With very little money and the suggestions you will learn from this class, you can build a successful business and determine your own job security.

To help you on your way to your dreams, the Altadena Library is offering a free class on how to start your own home-based business.  This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Altadena Library and will be presented by entrepreneur Nancy Miller on Saturday, January 5 from 2 – 5 p.m. in the Main Altadena Library Community Room.

Some of the knowledge you will gain from this course include:

  • How to legally form your business

  • Easy do-it-yourself strategies for market research

  • Accepting customers’ credit cards to maximize sales

  • The easy and right way to do your bookkeeping and tax records to make Uncle Sam happy

  • How to acquire a sales tax permit and business license to make things official

  • Dispelling myths Web designers promote

  • FREE resources that can boost your business

This class is not a get-rich scheme. It is designed to give you the tools to find a business. You will not be sold a franchise or business opportunity. Instead you will come away with the know-how to launch a successful home business.

About the instructor:

Nancy Miller of Rounds, Miller and Associates, has had several home-based businesses, including professional organization services, public speaking, a mail order company and a micro-publishing company. Nancy gives more than 150 presentations each year and has helped people launch successful businesses operated from their home.  She is the recipient of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of The National Speakers Association Golden Microphone Award for Speaking Excellence.

I'm still employed in the government office when I was offered to do a part-time online job. I did it for 2 years and I found it very okay. So I had to make the biggest decision, I resigned from my government job and make the online job full time. SignatureGreetings.net
