Public Invited to Saturday Altadena Flag Day Celebration

A public ceremony will be held on April 21 and a flag designated by the Town Council to represent Altadena will be raised.

The public is invited to a ceremony on April 21 to raise the new flag selected by a Altadena Town Council committee to represent the town.

The ceremony, which goes from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m, will be co-hosted by the Town Council, Altadena Heritage, the Altadena Chamber of Commerce, the Altadena Historical Society, and the Altadena Community Center Advisory Board.

Local historian Michele Zack will give an illustrated talk on Altadena's history.  Altadena Heritage and the Altadena Historical Society will both hold open house informational sessions at the ceremony starting at 2 p.m, according to Zack.

Elected representatives of Altadena, including County Supervisor Michael Antonovich, Rep. Adam Schiff, Assemblyman Anthony Portantino, and State Sen. Carol Liu will be in attendance.  

The flag design pictured at right was designated as the new flag of Altadena by the Town Council's Flag Committee following a . Altadena Patch has requested the voting tallies from that contest on multiple occasions but has not received them.
