Updated: Town Council Meeting Preview

Tuesday's agenda appears to be a light one.

Updated: The Altadena Community Visioning presentation described below and listed on the agenda will not take place Tuesday night after all, according to Greg Middleton, Town Council recording secretary.

The visioning consultant is not yet ready to make an extensive presentation on the process and will likely do it at July's meeting instead, Middleton wrote in an email.

Original: The Altadena Town Council will get an update on the Altadena Community Visioning process as well as one other county update at Tuesday's regular monthly meeting.

The Altadena Community Visioning process recently concluded after three workshops on Altadena residents desired changes to town-specific planning codes, as well as general visions for the town's future.

Linda, you mean the visioning workshops?

I was at two (one I arrived quite late but checked the sign-in), and was surprised that representation from TC was thin, considering there are 16 members. Sandy Thomas was there, I saw Greg Middleton, Brent Mussen, Okorie Ezieme, Doug Coliflower and Jamie Bissner, and I think Diane Markeson (sp) came to one. I could have missed some—but I believe it would be fair to say TC participation was on the low side considering the importance of these community wide discussions. There may have been more from the Land Use Committee, who tend to know more about the county's land use framework. At a TC meeting before the visioning sessions, a few council people complained (publicly) about the location, maybe that's why they didn't come. I thought the meetings were very well run, and was sorry to miss the last one because we were out of town.

I remember for sure that Jamie Bissner and Sandra Thomas were at all three. The members that Michele lists all sound right. I don't know for sure that there were not other members there, but my general impression was that there were not a lot of members there, particularly for the second two workshops.

Yes I meant the visioning meetings. And I see Gino Sund didn't make it after all. Sad. I will withhold further comments.

I don't believe Gino is on the council. His term is up and he didn't run again.
