Where to Celebrate New Year's Eve

Ring in the new year in style in Altadena and its neighboring cities.

While Altadena isn't exactly known for its nightlife, there are plenty of fabulous (and low key) ways to ring in the new year close to home. Say goodbye to 2011 by dining out with friends or partying the night away.

1. Celebrate the New Year each time it hits a time zone at the New Year’s Eve Party at .  The party starts at 2:30pm to usher in the French New Year at 3pm, the British New Year at 4pm, and the rest of the time zones up until 1am.  Food will be served, there will be a wine raffle, and last, but certainly not least, toasts every hour.

2. Help the  raise funds for a parking variance and an entertainment license while enjoying music and a potluck at its New Year Event. There will be a youth-oriented show with comedy and music during the earlier part of the evening.  For an older crowd, the later part of the evening will have regular entertainment with DJ Beatgozon performing.  The event is all ages and there is no cover charge but donations are highly welcomed.  The event starts at 8pm.

3. End the year in style with a lavish five or seven course prix fixe menu at The Royce at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena. The first seating--from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.--is $155 per person without wine and $210 with wine.  While the second seating--from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.--is a tad more expensive at $180 without wine and $250 with wine, you'll dine closer to midnight celebrations. If you'd rather dance the night away, celebrate with live music at the lobby lounge from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m.  For just $75, the hotel lounge offers wine champagne, hors d'oevres and a delectable desserts station.

Space is limited. For reservations, call (626) 585-6218.

4. If a big New Year's Eve bash is more your style, Pasadena's Noor is the place for you.  From 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. munch on complimentary appetizers and sip martinis from the venue's open bar.  For $85 presale ($110 at the door), you can dance to the pulsing beats of Radio DJ of the Year, DJ Creativity and welcome 2012 with a champagne toast at midnight.

Call (626) 793-4518 or visit itsmysteat.com/noor to purchase tickets.
