Five Acres to Celebrate 25th Anniversary of Annual Golf Classic

Annual Event Raises Over 2.25 Million in Total Support for Children and Families in Crisis

(Sept. 5, 2012; Altadena, Calif.) — Five Acres will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its annual Golf Classic on Oct. 1 at a prestigious golf club in Pasadena, reinventing the traditional event with surprise additions. The cocktail reception begins at 5 p.m. followed by the anniversary celebration dinner and awards at 6:30 p.m. Dinner tickets are available at $100 each and include live music, Latin American cuisine prepared by the club’s Executive Chef Jim Herringer, an authentic cigar rolling station, signature cocktails and premium auction tables. The event will feature special guest and former Five Acres client, Eric Hamilton, 32, of Huntington Beach, who will speak about his experience in the foster care system and his achievements today. Proceeds will benefit Five Acres’ programs and services that provide successful solutions for children and families in crisis throughout Southern California.

This year’s sponsors and underwriters include: Bolton & Company and Brad Reaume, title sponsor; Marcus Adams Properties, ace sponsor; Chapman Insurance, Kathy, Tetsu and Marcus Tanimoto, and William R. and Virginia Hayden Foundation, double eagle sponsors; and Majestic Realty Co., awards dinner underwriter. Sponsorship opportunities are still available; single player fee is $695 and includes one player entry and one dinner seat.

Casey Adams and Ryan Dietz are this year’s event co-chairs and provide vision and leadership to the golf committee. Dietz first co-chaired Five Acres’ Golf
Classic in 2001 and has been the event co-chair for nine years. Together, Adams
and Dietz have been co-chairs for two consecutive years and work with the
committee to ensure a successful outcome for the annual fundraiser.

“The committee is proud to be celebrating the 25th anniversary of Five Acres’ golf tournament,” said Dietz. “To date, we’ve raised nearly two and a half million through this tournament and we hope that this year’s celebration will be the best – not only in terms of fundraising but also in terms of our participants’ experience.”

Since 1988, Five Acres’ Golf Classic has continued to be one of Five Acres’ largest annual fundraisers, in support of providing successful solutions for children and families in crisis. Over its 124 year history, Five Acres has never wavered from its commitment to protecting vulnerable children. Five Acres promotes safety, well-being and permanency for children and their families by building on their strengths and empowering them within communities.
