Second Update: Volunteer Linda Lane-White has conveyed in the comment section that the event is now going to go as planned.
Updated: Volunteer Linda Lane-White has some more updates on how work on the lane is going in the comments section. Sounds like things are headed in the right direction.
The , which is scheduled for this Saturday, could be canceled or delayed because of issues due to the recent wind storms, according to Elizabeth Nelson of the Christmas Tree Lane Association.
Nelson said the group wants to make a decision on Wednesday whether the ceremony can be done on Saturday as planned or not. If not, the group hopes to be able to tell people at that point whether the event will be just delayed or outright cancelled.
The problem, Nelson wrote in an email to Patch, is that the lighting on each tree need to be checked by county workers before they are turned on, and with the current backlog of work, it is unclear when that will be possible.
Overall, the lane lost one deodar cedar tree that fell to the ground, and various branches and split limbs.
