The following events will be held for Memorial Day Weekend locally

If you are not too busy out of town, on vacation, spending times with friends and family, Memorial Day Weekend also offers a variety of local events.

Remembering Our Veterans Event, Arcadia County Park

Supervisor Michael Antonovich will host the 15th Annual “Remembering Our Veterans and Their Families: Past, Present and Future” event at Arcadia County Park from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. A special ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m.

The family event will include skydivers, flyovers, a “Wall of Remembrance” of veterans (bring copies of photos of your loved ones to place on the Wall), displays of military vehicles and equipment, a children’s area (face painting, arts and crafts, games, entertainment, free popcorn), free vaccinations, free haircuts and manicures, live entertainment, food booths and much, much more. 

County departments, governmental, independent and private agencies will provide an abundance of information and resources such as health, employment, child support, legal services, etc.

Neighborhood Fair, Peace & Justice Academy - The Peace & Justice Academy, at 2033 E. Washington Boulevard on the border of Pasadena and Altadena will hold a with food and entertainment on Saturday afternoon.

Monday

The Altadenablog reports there is a local ceremony honoring civil war veterans at the Mountain View Cemetery.

Other memorial events in nearby cities , which has food and activities for kids.

There will be a service for veterans at at 11 a.m. in the Sierra Madre Pioneer Cemetery.

All government offices, the Post Office, the Altadena Library, and the Pasadena Unified School Districts will be closed down for Memorial Day.
