Spring Garden Celebration and Golden Poppy Garden Awards June 9

Altadena Heritage will celebrate in the garden of a home built by David Macpherson, chief engineer and designer of the Mt. Lowe Railway.

Green thumbs are aplenty in Altadena and on June 9 some of the Altadena gardeners that own them will be honored.

Altadena Heritage will hold its annual Spring Garden Celebration and Golden Poppy Awards from 4-7 p.m. that day in a historic and appropriately natural setting.

Food, drinks, music and awards will take place “in the garden of the gambrel-roofed Macpherson home, built for his family by David Macpherson, chief engineer and designer of the Mt. Lowe Railway,” Altadena Heritage shared in its event description.

RSVP is requested at altadenaheritage@earthlink.net. Cost is $10 for members, $20 for non-members. Memberships and renewals are available at the event. Cash payment and checks made out to Altadena Heritage will be accepted at the door.

The event is located at 1075 Topeka Street, Altadena.
