West Altadena's sidewalks are very few and far between as it is. There has even been discussion about creating continuous sidewalks on Altadena Drive between Fair Oaks Ave. and Calanda Ave. but my question is who would be using them? As I walk down the above mentioned area continuing to Lincoln and on Lincoln between Altadena Dr. and Ventura, I find myself sharing the sidewalk with the horse riders or most importantly side stepping and dodging horse maneur continuously. Is there an ordinance or law that makes it illegal for people to ride horses on the sidewalks in the areas that encompass these streets or can we inact one? All I know is that there should be so that we as pedestrians can have our side walks back because they are being covered in horse manure daily. What about the parents and pre-school/elementary children? Is it fair that they should have to arrive at school with their shoes covered in this stuff or have to walk in the street to avoid it? All I know is something should be done to keep our few sidewalks free of horse manure and we pedestrians shouldn't have to share these sidewalks with the horses. What do you say?
