MOUNTAINS---WIND--FIRE

I have hiked--trail run over 10,000 miles. I won't take the kids on a hike when the wind is blowing.

Fire can travel faster, shift, and run up hill sides before you know it. In the worst case scenarios it might be impossible to escape.

In 1993, when the fire started in Eaton Canton, the winds were blowing so hard the fire actually skipped some trees, and house.

If I am hiking by myself, I know every trail and ridge, and can slide down, or run up a ridge fast. Having kids with you, makes that almost impossible.
