Poor US Postal Deliveries in Altadena?

Has anyone else in Altadena been experiencing frequent mail delivered to the wrong address or not delivered at all?

Yesterday an important check from my mutual fund worth thousands of dollars was delivered to the wrong address. Thankfully, the stranger who had found my mail and hand delivered it to me was honest. This happened as well a few weeks ago, when some important medical records sent to me from my doctor were returned by the USPS with a “No such person” notation on the envelope. When I complained to the Altadena post office, they insisted the address must have been wrong. It wasn’t.

One of the rare times I went to the post office last month, a man came in and was complaining about the same issue: mail correctly addressed but not delivered to his mailbox. His complaints were dismissed.

Once or twice a month I get someone else’s mail in my mailbox, and I always hand deliver it to them if possible. Perhaps it’s a wonder that the USPS gets it right as often as they do.

How do other people deal with this problem?
