Pasadena Waldorf School Open Houses This Saturday, Jan 12: Lower School and High School

Open House for Pasadena Waldorf Schools, for prospective students ranging from toddler and pre-K through 10th grade. Both Campuses will be open Sat, Jan.12 to meet faculty and view facilities.

Opportunity for prospective students and their families to see both lower school and high school.

Parents who are looking for an alternative to traditional public or private schools may want to join the faculty and staff of Pasadena Waldorf School and Pasadena Waldorf High School on Saturday, January 12th, when they hold their next open houses for the 2013-2014 admissions season.

The lower school, for students up through 8th grade, will hold its open house beginning at 9am. Ongoing presentations about Waldorf education will continue through 11am to augment the open classrooms, which will stay open until noon. Faculty from the Parent-Child program, preschool, kindergarten, and grades one through eight will be on hand to answer questions. The lower school campus is located at 209 East Mariposa Street, Altadena, CA 91001. For information on the lower school open house, please call 626-794-9564. Interested parents and students are invited to arrive any time during the open house, and are encouraged to come early for the presentation before visting the classrooms or enjoying the natural setting of the campus grounds.

For prospective 9th and 10th graders, the high school open house will run from 1pm until 4pm, beginning with an introduction to Waldorf high school education. Highlighted through sample lessons, work displays and classroom visits, this presentation explains what makes the Waldorf curriculum relevant and vital for today’s teenager. The open house also offers an opportunity to meet our teachers. Refreshments and informal discussion will follow the demonstrations. Since this is a more formal presentation, interested families should plan to arrive at the campus prior to the 1pm start time. The high school is located on the William Carey International University campus on the 3rd floor of the McGavran Building at 1539 East Howard Street, Pasadena, CA 91104. For information on the high school open house, please call 626-204-0786. Additional information can also be found at www.pasadenawaldorf.org.

Pasadena Waldorf School, founded in 1979, is one of over 1,000 Waldorf schools worldwide with over 90 years of experience offering inspired education. Pasadena Waldorf High School, which opened this year, joins 40 other Waldorf high schools now operating in North America. Waldorf education is the fastest growing independent school movement in the world.

The article I cited was last updated 28.5 hours before the time stamp on your post. That's one heckRead More of a "snag". You better complain to Ms. Hamlin about that.

When the photo is clicked the screen turns dark, and unresponsive. The page has to be closed, andRead More then open a new one. I hope you find your cat. When you do, if you want to add..... I have kittens. one of which looks a lot like the one you show.

Thanks again for all the feedback. The photo banner is distracting? How so? And I just postedRead More something last night and the site is updated daily so I am interested in what "old" articles means. Though the commenting stream is not here, the commenting process is still the same and just as easy, so share and comment away. :) Thanks!

I agree with Lisa. The home page is a mess. The distracting big banner at the top needs to go, orRead More perhaps the way the rest of the page is inset into it. It's a major design fail. Plus there's very little up-to-date news, the articles are old, and I can't be bothered to search through the blogs and boards, interesting though they may be. Thank goodness Altadenblog is still there. It's now my go-to site for current Altadena news.

I think the main issue is the lack of the comment stream - you could see what people were talkingRead More about, and you were often drawn in - and could find the article simply by clicking on the comment. It was the main advantage AltadenaPatch had over AltadenaBlog - much more engaging. No more.

That was a bug that has been worked out I believe, but thank you for the feedback. I appreciate yourRead More patience with our growing pains as part of our easier new layout.
