210 West Slow Due to Injury Accident

Officers are still on the scene at the injury collision before Arroyo Parkway.

Update 1:37 p.m. A man involved in the accident was fatally hit by a truck when he tried to run across the freeway. See the full story here on Patch.

Earlier:

A call came in to the California Highway Patrol to report a vehicle facing the wrong way in the middle lane of the 210 westbound freeway at about 9:22 a.m. Thursday.

An ambulance responded to “what appears to be a major injury collision,” a CHP official told Patch, in the area of the 210 freeway just west of Arroyo Parkway.

The carpool and number one lanes of the 210 east and west were closed by 9:36 a.m., as well as the westbound number three lane.

At about 9:40 a.m., Altadena Captain John Benedict tweeted:

#Altadena injury accident 210 fwy near Arroyo Parkway avoid area”

The accident aftermath then moved onto the right shoulder of the 210 freeway westbound.

Patch will post updates as they become available.

Did you see the accident? If so, what did you see and how is the traffic situation?

The 210 Fwy does not intersect with Arroyo Pkwy at all. Arroyo Pkwy (North) ends at Holly Street. Arroyo Pkwy (South) becomes the Arroyo Seco Pkwy South/110 Fwy South.

You're right, the reporter should have said, "Arroyo Blvd." not Pkwy.

Frank Walsh, Walsh Exterminating in Monrovia (626-359-4712) is EXCELLENT! My gardener got a dozenRead More bites from ground wasps and Frank took care of the nest and they've never returned. We've used him for years for fleas, spiders, wasps, and rats. He's experienced, thorough, neat and best of all, checks the rat traps and disposes of them. Good luck, Rhonda Raulston
