Crews Pulled Off Williams Fire Due to Lightning

Yesterday's storm missed Altadena, but threw lightning bolts within one mile of the Williams Fire.

All crews were pulled off the Williams Fire on Monday afternoon due to “over a hundred lightning strikes ... in close proximity to the fire area. Some were reported as hitting less than one mile away,” according to the National Forest Service InciWeb report.

Fortunately, the fire is 91% contained, and full containment is still projected for September 13th. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
