Altadena Sheriff's Station Captain John Benedict told Patch Wednesday that the alleged crime and suspect description were not released earlier because the alleged victim did not report the crime until about two weeks ago.

At that time, the Special Victims Unit conducted interviews with the alleged victim, which can be time-consuming, and got a description for the police sketch of the alleged suspect.
