A 19-year-old man who allegedly held a knife to his sister's throat inside the Pasadena apartment they shared was facing a possible charge of assault with a deadly weapon today, police said.
Jesus Ibarra was arrested after police responded around 2:50 p.m. to the 800 block of North Euclid Avenue to investigate a report of a man with a knife threatening his 24-year-old sister, said Pasadena police Lt. Jason Clawson.
"As officers got to the apartment, they saw him on a balcony holding a knife in his hand," Clawson said. "He went back into the apartment, a perimeter was set and negotiations begun."
After just a few minutes, Ibarra surrendered without further incident and was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Clawson said.
His sister was not harmed, Clawson said.
