Benefit for Injured Former John Muir Player Joe Frazier (Video)

Southland basketball teams squared off on Sunday in a fundraiser for Calabasas High assistant basketball coach Joseph Frazier, who used to play at John Muir High School

A basketball benefit showcase was held at on Sunday for assistant basketball coach Joseph Frazier, who has been in a coma since a in August.

Several Southland high school teams squared off during the all-day event organized by Frazier's friends and colleagues, including childhood friend and Cleveland Cavaliers center Ryan Hollins.

Hollins attended John Muir High School with Frazier and said he looked up to the 28-year-old.

"He's taught me so much, just get into college and what not, he really paved away," Hollins said, adding. "The big brother he was to me, the life lessons he taught me of paying hard, keep focused, never accept less, those are the little things that have helped me become the man I am today."

Those in attendance were asked to make a donation to go toward paying for Frazier's hospital bills. A suspect is still being sought in his hit-and-run case.
