Couple Rescued from Eaton Canyon

A sheriff's department helicopter beat the Altadena Search and Rescue Team to the site and hoisted the pair out of their tight predicament.

A man and a woman were rescued from the cliffs in Eaton Canyon Monday night.

A sheriff's department helicopter beat the Altadena Search and Rescue Team to the site and hoisted the pair out of their tight predicament, said Sgt. Booker Hollis of the sheriff's Altadena Station.

One of them suffered minor injuries, Hollis said. The pair was taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital for treatment and evaluation. The relationship of the hikers was not immediately known.

The distress call came in at 6:34 p.m., Hollis said.
