Updated: Deputy-Involved Crash Still Under Investigation

The Altadena Sheriff's office says the collision involved two vehicles.

The Altadena Station of the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department is investigating why a deputy's car hit another vehicle in Altadena Saturday afternoon.

According to California Highway Patrol records, the crash was reported at 3:46 p.m. at the intersection of Woodbury Road and North Fair Oaks Avenue.

Two sheriffs were riding in the vehicle when the crash occurred. According to an Altadena Sheriff's officer, only "minor injuries" were reported.

A patrol car that came to assist Altadena deputies responding to a family disturbance call and fight with a suspect crashed into a vehicle at the intersection, the Pasadena Sun reported Monday.

In addition to the injured deputies, the suspect and three drivers involved in the accident were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The above picture, taken soon after the crash by Patch Assistant Regional Editor Dan Abendschein, shows some of the confusion at the intersection just after the crash.

According to Dan he also saw "tons of cops, fire, ambulance and at least one person going to the hospital."
