Two Wounded in Drive-By Shooting

The shooting occurred at 3:20 p.m. and appears to be gang-related, according to authorities.

A drive-by shooting occurred today at 3:20 pm at the 150 block of West Altadena Drive.  The shooters were described as two male adults in a blue van with Oregon license plates. The weapon was a possible handgun.

"It appears to be gang-related," said Lieutenant Fitch of the Sheriff's Department. "Two male adults in their 20s were shot, and injured but both are expected to make a full recovery," he continued.

The case is still under investigation. Check back on Patch for updates.

LOL!!!!!!! Reading that individual's comment above was pretty painful, huh!? LOL
Revvell November 23, 2012 at 08:05 PM
The difficulty is, I read it 3 times to try and make sense of it. Head hurts now.
Laura Monteros November 23, 2012 at 10:38 PM
The comment is not funny. He lists the names of real people, and it should be removed. It reads like a threat.
AJ November 24, 2012 at 12:00 AM
Wow, all this just after several weeks/month there was another drive by shooting literally right down the street? And it is near the known drug house? I really hope the Sheriff's can start making the connections now. I've reported the drug activity several times now, reported the drug house to county code enforcement/zoning enforcement. What more can I do? I live several block away, not right in that area, but I think I'll take up some previous advice and attend an ACONA meeting to figure out how to get a neighborhood watch set up.
Whole Bean November 24, 2012 at 12:59 AM
Great idea AJ!! The neighborhood needs to band together to rid itself of this type of unwanted activity. We shouldn't tolerate this activity. We need to fight back! With assitance of the Sheriff's Department and other agencies. Watch groups are the eyes and the earas of the neighborhoods. We watch out for each other and giver information to the Sheriff's on crime activity!
Angela Odom November 24, 2012 at 03:00 AM
I need a translator to figure it out. It's gibberish to me but, if it's a threat, it should be taken down.
ac November 24, 2012 at 05:47 AM
We're all busy but I'll make time for that. Does the owner know how the community feels?
Cj November 24, 2012 at 06:14 AM
AJ, I've read your comments about this so called drug house and all I can do is shake my head. I'm not sure where you get this information from or if this is just what you assume because of how you interpret what you think you see. I understand that as humans we all have opinions, we all come to conclusions however, most of us have been taught that it's terribly wrong to voice an opinion about something without having actual knowledge. Do you feel that because you see LEO's at that house that it has to be because there is something illegal going on or have you considered that they do other things such as deliver boxes of food to children that became fatherless or that maybe they were checking on the wife of the man that died of cancer. Maybe holding her hand and letting her cry. Or how bout , they stopped by to give Mr Ware a huge stuffed sponge bob on his last Christmas. Maybe it was the time his friend came to support him because the oldest daughter, who was pregnant went down and after the coma, she and the baby both passed. How dare you assume that because they show up here that it has to be what you want it to be. I'd like to extend an invitation for you to meet me, to talk with me. You see, we spent years picking up the slack for those in our neighborhood that had, "Throw-away-kids" What did you do for them AJ, besides condem? When you say a prayer this evening, please be sure to tell God that you feel you can do his job better than he can.
Cj November 24, 2012 at 06:25 AM
I would love to have camera's positioned so that those that visit from Pasadena can have their 15 minutes of fame. I would love to be part of a neighborhood watch but you see, while everyone speaks on what they think they see, where is everyone when things like this happen? Where is the community support, the witnesses. There is so much that those of you that are pointing fingers have no clue about. And there are not enough letter here to allow me to write you a book but please know this. We were cleared by the L.A. county adoption, we also had foster children, My husband was cleared by DOD and I have been ran through DOJ twice since my husband passed and I will be happy to show you my seal. The so called, "drug shed", well, we use to manufacture ceramics and that shed was for storage. When we found he was terminal with cancer and had 6 months to live, everything in the house that had to do with the business was shoved in there and I haven't touched it since . However, if any of you would like to step up and offer to help me go through it, I wouldn't turn you away. I tried to get two of the local LEO' to say yes, that they would help.....but...just so you know. From what I've seen of those that sell drugs, they don't live in beat down homes in need of repairs and they drive some pretty decent cars. Please stop judging and reach out and communicate.
Cj November 24, 2012 at 06:29 AM
PS....Many of the Sheriff's have access to my home anytime they want it. They know there is nothing happening here. I just wish you all did too. I will open my doors to them at anytime and even make coffee. So please, it's hard enough with my husband gone and with this mess that is going on, don't make it harder for me than it has to be.
Cj November 24, 2012 at 06:36 AM
Miss Laura Monteros. My utmost respect to you for your comment. It appears that there is someone here with a heart and a soul. Very much love and respect to you and again, thank you. Warmly
True Freedom November 24, 2012 at 07:15 AM
What's a LEO? I'm not familiar with that term.
True Freedom November 24, 2012 at 07:54 AM
Guessing "law enforcement officer"?
Lisa Hastings November 24, 2012 at 08:51 AM
I hope that the Patch editor or someone has informed the Sheriff of this post. It does look like a threat which involves the poster CJ since both posts references the Ware family.
Cj November 24, 2012 at 09:56 AM
You are correct True.
Lisa Hastings November 24, 2012 at 10:04 AM
cj, According to the post by ckfloss above, it does appear that you are mixed up in something, since he/she mentions your name Ware.
Cj November 24, 2012 at 11:38 AM
We have been here for 30 years. My name was Ware then and it will be Ware to my end. I encourage you to elaborate more on your statement. You see, we were involved with kids for a long time, back when the gangs were coming into their own. We had a little league team, taught kids to play tennis, put fishing poles in their hands, left the door unlocked just in case there was someone that couldn't make it home at night. We did our best to try to teach them compassion for others and that a gang was not a proxy for a family. Yes, I venture to say I was involved in a whole lot. I am very guilty of caring. A probation officer once said to me, "You can't mother the whole world". My reply was, "I sure can try thought". Your comment, "Appears to be". Terms used by medical personnel, law enforcement or attorneys. I don't know ckfloss and if I do, it would not be by that name. I do know what it stands for, do you? Again, I invite you to elaborate on what it appears that I am involved in besides trying to help put some younger people on a correct path, at least one that I would consider correct. I came here to try to share some information and enlighten those that feel they know what is the truth. One thing I learned while studying to be a spiritual teacher, there is your truth, my truth and then there is the truth. Our life experiences tend to help form our personal truths. I'm very willing to discuss with you what you feel mine are. Have a blessed evening.
True Freedom November 24, 2012 at 05:04 PM
CJ - given that there is a lot of concern about your particular address... I'm sure many neighbors have already accessed public records such as www.meganslaw.ca.gov. Many will draw conclusions based on information found there. Would you like to clear up any misconceptions about who resides there?
cj November 24, 2012 at 05:57 PM
True, no, I think there are already enough names posted here and it's not my calling to pass judgement on anyone. What I do know is, there is nothing that is perfect in our system or in our world and most people, under the right circumstances are known to lie. You use the name, True Freedom. That places much responsibility on your shoulders, doesn't it? Like all humans, even those that help to protect and serve make mistakes.
cj November 24, 2012 at 06:00 PM
True Freedom 8:39 pm on Thursday, November 22, 2012 We almost had two fewer gangbangers in town. True, and you know this because? R u certain of this? I don't dislike you, I just want to be certain that the words you post here are in fact, True. You don't want to be the one responsible for something happening to someone because you believe something to be true. Think about it.
cj November 24, 2012 at 06:03 PM
Thank you everyone for allowing me to share some of who I am with you. I'm done now. I have neighbors that have posted on the last post because I was introduced to The Patch from the last shooting. I took the time to thank them and now I thank you. You will make up your own mind based on your own life experiences. Again, thank you for your time and for allowing me to put a human tone on an address. Have a blessed day.
AJ November 24, 2012 at 06:16 PM
Well, two drive by shootings in several weeks in the near vicinity of a house where I've actually seen, with my own two eyes, drug dealing leads me to my conclusions. I really don't think that all the claims in the world to the contrary or that nothing is going on can counter the two shootings. I don't believe that coincidences of these kinds happen. Either the owners are being taken advantage of by people they know to use their home for illicit activity and are ignoring the truth or they are active participants in the illegal activity. Regardless, the community as a whole is being affected. One day it won't be a drug dealer or gang member who is shot, but some innocent person or child walking to the corner market or nearby church or park.
Lisa Hastings November 24, 2012 at 06:21 PM
Have a blessed day = please ignore everything you have seen and heard that goes on at my home.
True Freedom November 24, 2012 at 06:43 PM
The pseudonym True Freedom places no more responsibility on my shoulders than any other poster.. The phrase "true freedom" can mean different things to different people. Some may take this to mean that anyone can do anything that they please. I do not subscribe to this interpretation. One my of interpretations is that true freedom is the ability for us to live in safe communities.. free from gangbanging, drug dealing and sex offenders.. and crime in general.
William Korn November 25, 2012 at 01:59 AM
I'm not casting judgements on or drawing conclusions about anyone commenting on this article because I, like most others commenting, don't actually know what's going on at this house. But let me point out that the evidence obtained by AJ's own two eyes counts for nothing when it comes to taking a drug-dealing case to trial, or anywhere else. Videotaping the drug transactions would be much more effective. But don't count on the sheriffs to provide the camera. Some 25 years ago when I lived about as far into West Altadena as you can get, we had a similar situation on our street. When crack cocaine started becoming popular, local teenagers, armed and dangerous, started dealing on the street. Multiple complaints accomplished nothing with the sheriffs. It took the PCP dealer being shot dead on the street in the middle of the day, plus the fact that a neighbor (a reserve sheriff) had installed a video camera on a convenient telephone pole and recorded all the activity, to encourage the sheriffs to do a sweep. While the dealers were gone, the street set up a neighborhood watch to insure they wouldn't deal there in the future. If there really is a problem at this house, It's going to take the neighborhood to resolve this problem, and by "neighborhood" I don't mean people living three blocks away like AJ. That's notoriously hard to do, the dealers have fear of retaliation on their side. Complaining and trying to "out" alleged evildoers publicly won't help very much.
Laura Monteros November 25, 2012 at 02:26 AM
You're welcome, CJ. I remember the Ware boys from Edison.
Laura Monteros November 25, 2012 at 02:35 AM
TF, I checked and did not find anyone listed as a sex offender at that location.
Lisa Hastings November 25, 2012 at 03:25 AM
So now we know that CJ is full of it.
