DUI Checkpoint in Altadena Area Saturday

The checkpoint is part of a two-week DUI crackdown.

Since the holidays can be a time when people may have a little too much “holiday cheer,” law enforcement agencies from across Los Angeles County are coordinating DUI checkpoints and patrols over a two-week period, Patch previously reported.

This weekend, a checkpoint will be in the Altadena area Saturday.

The California Highway Patrol will deploy all available officers during their Maximum Enforcement Period this holiday weekend from Friday at 6 p.m. through midnight on Monday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department noted in a release.

From 12:01 a.m. Friday Dec. 14 through midnight Thursday Dec. 20, officers representing 100 county law enforcement agencies have arrested 621 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s statement.
