A roof collapsed as firefighters battled a house fire in Pasadena today, a fire official said.
Firefighters dispatched to the single-story home in the 700 block of North Michigan Avenue at 9:03 a.m. had the fire out within 30 minutes of their arrival, said Lisa Derderian of the Pasadena Fire Department.
"It was a Craftsman-style home, which is a design well known especially in Pasadena," Derderian said.
No injuries were reported. The residents of the home were on vacation, she said.
The fire caused about $700,000 in damages though the cause was under investigation.
The road closure along Michigan Avenue near the fire was reopened to vehicular and pedestrian traffic at about 4:15 p.m., according to the Pasadena Police Department.
